A concert of sacred and secular music from Elizabethan England. The programme includes William Byrd's amazing Mass for Four Voices and a short selection of 16th century madrigals by composers such as Weelkes, Farmer, Morley, Tomkins.
The choir will be conducted by David Brophy.
Having originally conceived this Saturday's concert of Elizabethan music as a programme of two halves, the Music Director of Dún Laoghaire Choral Society (David Brophy) has taken the decision to amalgamate these halves. In doing so the concert duration has been somewhat reduced, presenting abundant riches from the Elizabethan choral tradition in a programme spanning roughly one hour. With this in mind, all tickets originally priced at €20 are now reduced to €10, while concession tickets, previously priced at €15, are now reduced to €5
