Dun Laoghaire Choral Society is hosting SingSational! a celebration of all things singing, on the 18th of September next, Culture Night. The event will take place in Dun Laoghaire - the exact venue and time is still to be confirmed but it will be early evening time.

The idea is to gather together as many choirs from the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council area as possible for a workshop/performance. We're inviting choirs of all ages and abilities from the church, school and community choirs and we hope that that family and friends and members of the public will come along too. 

The event will be led by DLCS's Music Director, David Brophy. David is probably Ireland's best-known conductor and we can guarantee that he will make it a memorable event for all involved! David will lead a sort of workshop, with fun vocal warm-ups, some training in vocal technique, breathing etc and of course we will do some singing! The repertoire has not yet been confirmed but we will probably sing the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah and Mozart's Ave Verum, amongst others. Music will be available here for download a bit closer to the time.
